Portal Configuration for Hosts

The XATP Magic Portal makes it easy for manufacturers to receive and manage requests and reports from direct and indirect ATPs including pharmacies, wholesalers, and third-party logistics providers. This guide covers the basic Portal configuration settings available to the portal owner, aka the Host.

To access the configuration settings, log into the XATP dashboard and navigate to the Portal Management tab. From here you can create a portal or edit the settings of your existing portal.

Quota Policy #

During the stabilization period and beyond, manufacturers have set a variety of authentication policies. For some manufacturers, while automatically responding to thousands of unauthenticated verification requests each day represents an unacceptable level of risk, responding to a single verification request from a single email address once a year is an acceptable level of risk. With this in mind, Portal Hosts have the ability to set their own “courtesy request” quota policies for verifications, exceptions, and traces. This sets limits on how many requests Guests can make through the Portal.

To start, the Host can decide whether you wish to set limits based on total requests, or totals by individual request type. Most manufacturers choose totals by individual request type, to allow for greater control.

From there, you can set the limit for each type of activity. To allow for unlimited requests, simply enter -1.

  • For verification and exceptions, quota limits are imposed on unauthenticated Guests. Many manufacturers set a low number, such as 3, for these Guests.
  • For tracing, quota limits are imposed on authenticated Guests. Due to the high-stakes nature of tracing as it relates to suspect and illegitimate product investigations, unauthenticated Guests are unable to make trace requests; they must first be authenticated as ATPs.

GLN #

The GLN is a 13-digit identifier issued by GS1. Enter the GLN you prefer to use for self-signed VRS requests from the portal, as well as the default GLN for trace requests and responses. It is strongly recommended that you use your corporate entity GLN. If no GLN is entered, the LedgerDomain GLN will be used in its place.

Auto-Verification #

This feature gives you the option to run verification requests based on portal submissions against the VRS for automatic responses. We recommend that this be enabled if you have a VRS provider, and disabled otherwise.

Labeller Codes #

As part of setting up your Portal, it’s important to ensure that Guests can only make inquiries about your products. To make this as easy as possible, we make use of the NDC labeller code embedded in GS1-standard GTINs. This means instead of having to enter thousands of GTINS into the Portal configuration settings, you only need to add a few prefixes.

When setting the Labeller Codes, enter the first 8 digits of all the GTINs that Guests should be able to verify on your Portal. This ensures that only drug packages with your NDC labeller code(s) can be verified on the Portal. If you have multiple 8-digit GTIN prefixes, separate each code by a comma.

Logo #

Upload your corporate logo here. We recommend a high-resolution PNG with transparency.

Additional Options #

Additional configuration options, such as custom DNS, privacy notices, and custom language on the Portal front page, are available upon request.
