New Movilitas DSCSA App Delivers Fast, Secure VRS Access Through 2D Barcode Scanning – Supported By Industry Leaders Movilitas.Cloud, LedgerDomain and Spherity
July 21, 2025, Chicago, Illinois, USA – Movilitas.Cloud has officially launched Movilitas DSCSA, a free mobile application designed to help wholesalers, pharmacists and other trading partners meet the requirements of the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). Now available on the App Store and Google Play, the app provides instant access to the Verification Router Service (VRS), allowing users to verify product authenticity in seconds by scanning a 2D barcode on prescription drug packaging.
Whether verifying a saleable return, addressing a traceability alert or conducting a quick spot check, users can now route verification requests directly to manufacturers and repackagers, with no setup fees or subscriptions required.
Built on open standards and designed for mobile, Movilitas DSCSA ensures every verification request is securely linked to the user’s verified identity and Authorized Trading Partner (ATP) status. The app uses digital credentials based on the Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI) specification, providing an auditable, standards-based foundation of trust across the supply chain.
“Verification at your fingertips—that’s what Movilitas DSCSA delivers,” said Marc Blekkink, Managing Director at Movilitas.Cloud. “By integrating credentialing directly into the app, every request is authenticated and DSCSA-compliant. We’re not just focused on convenience — we’re helping protect our customers and the patients they serve by ensuring trust at every touchpoint.”
With just two steps, users can link an OCI-compliant credential — issued by LedgerDomain or Spherity — and start submitting authenticated requests immediately. These credentials confirm ATP status and ensure seamless interoperability with the VRS network. As of January 2025, OCI’s credentialing ecosystem includes over 10,000 pharmacy locations across the U.S., and has been adopted by manufacturers representing roughly one-third of the U.S. pharmaceutical market by value.
“Credentialed access to the VRS is a game-changer,” said Ben Taylor, CEO of LedgerDomain. “With Movilitas DSCSA, we’re bridging the last-mile gap—giving ATPs an easy, secure way to engage with the DSCSA network directly from their mobile device.”
“Trust and interoperability are critical in the pharmaceutical supply chain,” added Michael Ruether, President of Spherity Inc. “Through our partnership with Movilitas.Cloud, we’re embedding standardized credentials into a mobile-first experience — delivering instant, automated trust at the point of verification.”
Together with credential issuer Legisym, and a strong coalition of industry stakeholders, Movilitas.Cloud, LedgerDomain and Spherity remain active participants in the DSCSA standards ecosystem, including the Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI), HDA VRS Provider Network, GS1 and the Partnership for DSCSA Governance (PDG). This announcement is the latest step in a broader, collaborative effort to enable secure, standards-based interoperability across the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain.
