Quebec, Canada / Los Angeles, CA, March 9, 2023 – OPTEL Group, a leading global provider of supply chain traceability systems, and digital wallet provider LedgerDomain have just announced a strategic partnership to help customers comply with the upcoming authorized trading partner (ATP), interoperable tracing, and enhanced verification requirements of the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). With the successful test of ATP credentials, OPTEL and LedgerDomain are teaming up to make onboarding quick and easy for their customers.

By November 27, 2023, ATPs in the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain will be required to exchange product compliance information, including drug verification and tracing data. As members of the Partnership for DSCSA Governance (PDG), OPTEL and LedgerDomain support the use of Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI) W3C-specified Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs), GS1 messaging standards and data attributes, and open standards to achieve safe and secure credentialing and information exchange between ATPs.

Working alongside a coalition of other solution providers, OPTEL and LedgerDomain deliver credential-secured messages to the Verification Router Service (VRS), a network of solution providers established to handle enhanced drug verification under the law. With ATP credentials, manufacturers and repackagers can automatically confirm the ATP status and identity of requesters on the network.

“ATP credentials are like ‘TSA PreCheck’ for the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain,” said Gael Lambert, SAAS Product Manager at OPTEL Group. “LedgerDomain’s XATP solution enabled us to accelerate onboarding and ensure our customers’ compliance messages go to the front of the line. Now that testing is complete, we’re using those test results to accelerate our interoperability efforts and establish templates for future efforts.”

Ben Taylor, CEO of LedgerDomain, echoed Lambert’s sentiments. “OPTEL’s test engineers worked quickly with our team every step of the way to deliver on integration testing. We’re excited to work closely with OPTEL to deliver quick and easy credentialing as part of their full-stack supply chain traceability solution.”
